The MG6 is about the same size as a Ford Focus, and has a huge boot and a surprisingly enjoyable driving experience. Given the competitive price, it's certainly not disappointing when it comes to the handling but it falls short of rivals in areas such as interior quality and fuel economy. Both petrol and diesel models are available, and there's a choice of saloon or hatchback models.

The MG GS is the first SUV the brand has ever built, and is undoubtedly its most important yet under Chinese ownership. It majors on value for money and is a similar shape and size to the Nissan Qashqai and Renault Kadjar - yet priced closer to models like the SsangYong Tivoli. It's not the cheapest model of its type to run, but it comes packed with equipment. If you're looking for an SUV on a budget, the MG GS is well worth considering.
