MINI
The MINI brand keeps going from strength to strength, and is anything but small these days! The hatchback is a stylish, retro-inspired supermini which is also available as a Convertible. The MINI Countryman challenges the Nissan Qashqai and Skoda Yeti as a family car option, while the Coupe and Roadster are two-seaters designed to take on the Audi TT, Peugeot RCZ and Mazda MX-5.

The MINI Hatch is now in its third generation (excluding the sixties original, of course) and it's now more spacious, more luxurious and more fuel-efficient than ever before. MINI has concentrated on expanding the gap between the front and rear wheels to increase space in the boot, so it's now more of a usable family car. Plus, there's even a five-door version for the first time. There's a model and a colour scheme to suit everyone, too, such is the level of personalisation. Kicking off the range is the One, followed by the Cooper and Cooper S – add a D to the end of each of those and you’ve got the diesel models. A sporty John Cooper Works (JCW) hot hatch completes the range.

With a raised ride height, four-doors and a usable boot, the MINI Countryman is no ordinary MINI. It's available as a four or five-seater, and the rear row can be slid back and forth to increase legroom or boot capacity as required. Minimum luggage capacity measures at 350 litres, which is more than double the space you'll find in a standard MINI hatchback and gives you an idea how big this MINI really is. The sparkling chassis gives the best handling in the class, although this model can’t quite match the agility or driver involvement of the standard hatch. It's more comfortable, though.

The MINI Paceman is the second SUV from MINI, joining the MINI Countryman in the brand's line-up. Its front-end styling is similar to the MINI Countryman's, but it sacrifices that car's rear doors in favour of a three-door bodystyle and a sleek, sloping roofline. It also has a slightly smaller boot than the Countryman, and is strictly a four-seater. All Pacemans come with either two or four-wheel drive and sharper, sportier handling than the larger MINI SUV.

Sometimes described as the ‘MINI estate’, the MINI Clubman's aim is to keep all the MINI hatchback's positive traits - quirky styling, classy image and fun ‘go-kart’ driving experience - but add more rear space and a bigger boot. It's that simple. However, because MINI likes to be different, access to the boot is via a set of 'barn doors' which open as the name suggests - like a set of barn doors. Gone is the quirky 'Clubdoor' of the old model in favour of regular rear doors which boosts practicality.

The Coupe is the latest addition to MINI's line-up. Thanks to the low line of the roof, there's only room for two seats inside, and because the Coupe is the sporting flagship of the range, it's only offered in Cooper, Cooper S and John Cooper Works versions. Power comes from a range of efficient engines, so fuel consumption and emissions will be competitive, despite the performance on offer. However, as the Coupe is the flagship of the MINI hatchback range, it won't come cheap.

The MINI Roadster is the first two-seater convertible MINI has ever produced. Based on the MINI Coupe, the Roadster has a fabric folding roof and is offered in Cooper, Cooper S, John Cooper Works and Cooper SD form. It also gets a decent size boot measuring 280-litres.
